How do I make Steam download faster? Clear the Download Cache. This is the first thing that you should try, as most downloading problems with Steam on Windows 10 can be solved in this way: Launch Steam. In the left panel, choose Downloads. In the right section, on the bottom of the page you will see a Clear Download Cache. For a while I thought it was an issue with my router or local base station, but it is now apparent that RAIN is throttling my download speeds. Speedtest shows an amazing download speed of 70mbps.
